The therapeutic relationship is a significant factor in how effective therapy will be. Take time to shop around for the right person whether it’s me or a different therapist. Make sure that it is someone who views you as greater than the problems you face. Your therapist should empower you and work with you to assess your needs and develop your plan. Therapy isn’t perfect but it’s a process.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Loyola University and Masters in Mental Health and Counseling with a specialty in trauma.
